We have a couple of block types in the new WordPress editor that make it easier for you to build your site’s pages: pattern blocks and re-usable blocks.
Pattern blocks (editable)
A pattern block is one or more WordPress blocks bundled and designed so you can drop it into a post or page, then edit it by replacing the default content with your own. This way, you can maintain your site’s design integrity as you add new content. You’ll find your custom pattern blocks under the Block inserter in the site’s back end (under the patterns tab).
Mai notice block
You can use this in posts or pages. Use the block inserter to put it where you want it, then edit the content to your heart’s content.
Page banner block
This full-width block is only for pages. You’ll recognize it as the banner treatment on your site’s home page. You should only use it on a major page, like a landing page. Just replace the image and the content, and you’re all set.
Reusable blocks (not editable)
Reusable blocks are designed blocks that contain content that is always the same. If you edit the content in a reusable block, you will change the content in all block instances on your site. You’ll find these blocks under the Block inserter in the site’s back end (under the reusable blocks tab).
Podcast buttons
This is a little reusable block showing your podcast subscription buttons. You can use it in posts or pages.
